Bicycle Route Planner Germany
Who are we?
A number of federal states operate individual bicycle route planners on the internet. These systems work with state-specific data and different approaches.
Several federal states have joined together under “Bicycle Route Planner Germany” to form a joint project to offer cross-border and large-scale planning of cycling routes. The aim is to provide routing on well-signposted and quality-designated “premium routes” of the states for (multi-day) cycling tours – bundled in a central application.
Nationwide Route Query
How does it work?
The basic idea of “Bicycle Route Planner Germany” is the use of a central system that decides, based on an address-specific route request, which participating bicycle route planners calculate partial routes in their area and deliver them to the overall system.
The result combines the route sections calculated by the bicycle route planners on designated themed routes in an overview map. From there, you can click through to the detailed views of the individual systems and use all further output and information options. You can modify the partial routes there as you wish.
Detailed descriptions can be found in the digital flyer for the Bicycle Route Planner Germany.

For a Germany-wide routing, the Bicycle Route Planner Germany offers route results in federal states that do not operate their own service. These routes use forms of guidance approved for cycling traffic that may not exclusively meet the requirements of themed routes as in the participating bicycle route planners.
